love

I just watched the movie Cashback and it really opened up a doorway to an emotion that I have been searching for for a long time. Along with other movies that really appeal to my deepest emotions, the one’s that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up (Orange County, and Art School Confidential). The way the director directed the film was absolutely perfect and he communicated it in a way that spoke louder than words.
It seems apparent that I am definitely an artist at heart. I don’t know if the writers or directors of these movies all feel the way I feel in some magical mysterious way, or there is just a group of people feeling the same emotions. It’s the way genre’s appeal to different people, magnetizing crowds with the same tastes. I don’t usually feel moved in movies, especially romantic comedies, but Cashback really opened my eyes. It tells of an artists view on life and how we see the beauty in the human form and how we can fall in love with and be so interested in the most peculiar things. Each person has their own flaws, and some people see the beauty in it. A really hideous hag to one may be a princess to another.
I’ve lost my focus, as usual, and definitely wish I had the ability to stop time and think of what I needed to think of to get my ideas out. I feel like I am so profound sometimes but the ability to focus on one profound thought long enough for me to explain it correctly is near impossible.
All artists and creative minds have the same thought process. Almost all things appeal the same way.
I wish I could paint and draw the human figure as beautiful as God made it to be.
Ironic that I talk about focusing and my mind processes the night before my doctor’s appointment to fix it.
I wish life was more laid back and my thoughts could be explained more clear; Philosophy and the Arts were more prominent in today’s world, great artists were recognized more for the incredible work they produce. It’s amazing how much art is made these days, how talented most artists are and how hard they work and still these great artists are struggling for money. Despite the recession we are having and the economic downfall I think that kind of talent is one of a kind and just an incredible thing to own.
Beauty is in love, it just takes a certain mindset to see it.

and something that I was sketching a couple of days ago after watching some Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. Which is an amazing show.

Hiding behind cold glass eyes
July 10, 2009
So I’m sort of in hiding right now. I’m hiding from the inevitable and there’s nothing that I can’t think of doing that would make me happy.
I am a sponge.

I tried making a self portrait of myself, I got to the point where it looked a lot like me but I stopped in the middle of it and I immediately had to turn a different direction. The fact that I’m trying to make a picture of myself kind of skeeves me out. I want to be hidden, even though I have such an overbearing personality at times.
This is how I feel.
Suggest watching “Ghost World” with Thora Birch, Scarlett Johansson and Steve Buscemi.

I love..

I love photoshop brushes, especially the free ones. I actually JUST started using them with my illustrations, but I don’t really want to over do them because of the style I want to put out.
I colored the link picture..
I have been interning at Ocala Magazine for the past 3 weeks now and deadline was upon us last week. So very hectic, and calmly chaotic. I’ve basically been thrown like 3 bones this issue and I’m pretty stoked about it. More illustrations than I had expected will be shown in July’s issue and I can’t wait to see it in print. Once out, I will scan.
hooray!
HEY!

If anyone does remember, the fairy used on Ocarina of Time was indescribably annoying. This picture shows what went on behind the scenes, Navi getting on Link’s nerves.
NAVI: HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!
LINK: SHUT . UP !
Zombies have feelings too!

Something that I had worked on for a project entitled “My Little Dark Side”. Apparently I think love doesn’t exist?
Advice for a quarter.
Although slow, and dangerous behind the wheel, zombies really do have a purpose!

Why do sharks own my life? Oh yeah, because they are fucking AWESOME.

Everyone knows about the old Mexican liar, known as The Most Interesting Man in the World! Bullshit, I know he didn’t do any of that jibber-jabber. I took a more realistic approach and named this guy the LEAST interesting man in the world.

See where I went there?
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Breaker
June 21, 2009
Going to Wal-Mart and AMF Galaxy Lanes bowling alley really inspire my creativity. I don’t know what it is about those places, I guess the way people look in comparison to my style of illustrations, but it just hits a little button in my brain. School is now over, (hooray) I just got an internship at Ocala Magazine for a student position, and I have more free time to do what I’ve always wanted to do… Interpretive dance, so I’m set for these two weeks. Oh, and did I mention my birthday is in four days? My mailbox will be open, and your presents will be accepted. Candy will do just fine.
I’ve been playing Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker non-stop lately and it’s etched inside my brain. So the etchage has now been transferred to sketchage. Here are a few of them i actually liked.
